WiFi can deliver 1.2Gig from one device to one device (5Ghz) but if you have multiple devices on one wireless access point, that bandwidth gets divided. You'd have to have several channels in use to deliver 1Gig per device.
I have Comcrap 1.5Gig. Over wireless I was able to get about 600Mb/s...
Some are linked via the Internet, a few are going microwave. It's actually a pretty robust network. There is also a Zello option if you're outside of the network coverage area.
Yes, it is a subscription based group, simply because maintaining that network is not cheap and certainly not free...
LOL! As soon as I made my first QSO, I started looking into a Yagi and decided that the whole rotor and pole and all was a little too much right now. I'm just using a J-pole and it does a decent job, maybe out to 20 miles (longest contact so far).
I was thinking of doing a mag loop for...
Can I assume you live in an HOA?
FWIW, a wire that stretches across your yard is VERY hard to see from any distance. Not sure what your limitations are but where I live, the HOA is freaking picky but they haven't seen my antenna.
Well, there are practice exams you can take online to find out exactly what you do and don't know. Frankly, a lot of hams study for the exams not really study to absorb the technical information. Some keep pursuing the knowledge, others just jump on the air and frankly, make mistakes (that can...
DE K4ZRI General here.
I have an IC-7300, Yaesu FT-897 and a TYT-9800 in my shack. I'm thinking about selling the 897, just don't use it since I got the 7300.
BTW, the freaking HF bands are just abysmal!
Ok, the L14 allows you to wire either 120V or single phase 220V with neutral and ground:
The L6 plug has two hots and ground:
I assume your compressor is 220V, correct?
Not advisable, the plug for the compressor is 40amp, the generator receptacle is 30amp. Unless you can be absolutely certain the compressor doesn't pull more than 30 amps, and the circuit breaker on the generator is 30 amps, don't do it.
