I'm lucky to have a good friend with 400ac near Rome Ga who let's us hunt out there so I thought I would try out a product from MossyOak Biologic called "Hotspot". I've got a stand between 2 bedding areas in an open hardwood area with a large field maybe 200yds away. All they say to do in...
Some WMA's I've had good luck at are Allatoona, John's Mtn, Pine Log and Paulding to name a few. Caliber is up to you though, I've used everything from 30-30 to 7mm mags. Most of the wma's I've listed are fairly close.
Going along with the others here-follow the rules and make friends. If their good guys they'll help you find a good spot on the property and help you along. Little tip-get on the computer and find you a map, aerial/elevation map of your property. It'll save you a little time looking all over for...
I wouldn't read to deep into what I was saying. What I meant was that in terms of ballistics putting a deer down quick is better with say a 30.06 than a 223? But what the heck, if you shot the deer in the head it doesn't really matter then does it? Ballistics of calibers is a long subject in itself.
Lot of guys in all three places you mentioned. Go try out Shefield wma close to Paulding wma, just be ready to walk. They keep the gate closed to it during turkey season.
Go to spots that folks are not willing to walk to. A lot of hunters walk in maybe 4-500 yards, but I've walked in 1-2 miles in and you will see more deer than the other guys will. Learn to read a topo map and look for funnels in terrain that give deer easy travels through the woods. Success will...
Finally broke free and went up to see what they had there. They had some good deals, but no guns. The store has a small inventory of common ammo that's average in price compared to anywhere else. I would say they split the store, half fishing the other half hunting supplies. Little bit of...
