We've got a breeding pair of Cooper's hawks during the spring and summer. When I first got chickens I had bantams and they were all under 2 pounds. Those Coopers Hawks did a number on my birds back then. Now all of my birds are 6-8lbs.
After seeing it today it's definitely big enough to take off with one of my chickens if it wanted to. He was in the trees behind the chicken coop watching the chickens in the yard.
I'll try to get back out there with a camera cause it talks literally from first crack of light until the sun goes down then it gets quiet. First owl I've ever heard this noisy during the day.
I've had a large barn owl living in the woods behind my house for several years. Starting at dusk it would start talking and it would go just about until first light. As of the last few months we've suddenly got an owl that's talking all day. At 1:00 in the afternoon with the sun beating down it...
I delivered a lifted golf cart from Southern Golf Carts last week and they had to hit the trailer ramp with a running start because it didn't have the strength to drive up the incline otherwise.
I called the cops once to let them know i was discharging a firearm so that if any home owners called about it they would know. The second time they had me wait until the officer was there so he could "verify it was necessary".
I've killed two deer with my SR-9 and my P-07. Both had been hit by cars on the side of the road though. It's why i keep an extra mag of range ammo in the truck center console. That way i don't have to waste the expensive hollows.
