Even a bad day in the woods is better than any day in the office.
I love being out there, so even if I don't take an animal it's still worth it to me. I use the old n trusted .308 myself.
Had a nice size doe run into my jeep a few years ago.
Was dropping a friend off and had the top down. Thought it was gonna jump in with us.
Hit the driver rear tire, flopped over and got up n ran off.
Had some hair between the wheel and tire left over hahah
Just a few more days till my vacation. Gonna be living in the woods during it hopefully. I haven't taken anything yet this year and a buddy has only taken a small doe. We're gonna be out as much as possible next week.
There used to be a couple at Buford Dam near the DNR HQ. They were easy to spot from the road out in the field under the power lines, stood out like a sore thumb. They were mostly piebald but one was almost liquid paper white. Haven't seen them in a few years though.
I've seen more deer just walking out of my house in the mornings than I have sitting this year.
Got a good vacation coming up next week, hopefully they'll be moving.
They are fine, had to make a little adjustment but everything seems normal. Was told to shoot for a week or so then take it back for a tune after the strings stretch.
If you think your gonna do it the rest of your life, look into the lifetime license.
I just got mine before the price increase in July, so it'll be awhile before it pays off.
