  1. Primer/powder shelf life?

I’m still shooting 7.62x25 that was manufactured in 1954. I have no idea how it was stored up til the point I purchased it a few years ago.
  2. 55 gallon drum of cleaned, trimmed, sized, deprimed 9mm brass

At some point in the very near future you may be able to break those down in little ziplock bags and sell them by the 100. :behindsofa:
  3. Reloading tips - post them up

Steal some dryer sheets from your O'l lady, cut them into 1 inch strips length wise and place into your powder feeder with the ends just hanging slightly over the top of the tube. Put the cap back on and bam! No more static issues and powder clinging to the walls in your powder tube. Also seems...
  4. Anyone ever cause a mistake?

Failed to powder load a 45 ACP round once. I will tell you that just a primer has enough force to push the slug just half way down the barrel....thank God I didn't fire the following round.
  5. Seating primers?

If you're using lake city brass that's former military brass you will need a military crimp swager to remove the primer crimp before re-priming. Dillon makes a nice one that I use the (super swage 600).
  6. Seating primers?

Are you reaming the primer pockets when you're preparing the brass for reloading? Shouldn't be that hard to seat the primer unless you're using military brass. I use an RCBS primer to seat them.

  9. Took a hammer to my Lee loadmaster

I hear ya....save your pennies for a Dillon 550 and never look back. I've seen a few pop up here for trade/sell as well.
  10. Took a hammer to my Lee loadmaster

I have both Dillon and RCBS and have been loading on both for many years without a single issue from either. If money is an issue you cant go wrong with an RCBS single stage. It's the only single stage loader I use for precision rifle rounds and match .45 ACP.
  11. Presses

If your really wanting to build / reload precision rifle rounds I would think a single stage press would suite your needs better.
  12. Let's See Your Benches!

    Varget
  14. How long does fired brass last without being cleaned?

Reload them until they split....there not going bad anytime soon.
  15. depriming & Decapping 223/556

Sounds like you may have your depriming pin set to deep. Try seting the deprimming pin deeper in small increments until the primmer just falls out and set one turn deeper. This is what I use to remove the crimp. http://www.dillonprecision.com/#/content/p/9/pid/25263/catid/8/Super_Swage_600

  19. Reloading Bench Almost Done - Question about press placement

Might want mount it to another board like a 2 x 8 x 24" and then C clamp it to your desk until you figure out where you like it best. This will allow you to move it to multiple locations, remove it completly, and give you a little more support under your press. Most time spent reloadiong is...
