I have heard of subsonic 5.56. Generally its underpowered and so it won't cycle the action of the AR. According to some results from Regan's google search looks like guys are starting to find a formula that will make it cycle the AR.
I must be the only Hornady fan on here. I'm a big fan of their presses, both single stage and progressive/turret. Their ammo factory setup can really pump out some rounds.
Technically he's right. He's can is quieter than the action itself because cans don't make noise. Lol. Now metering a fired round through his can being quieter than the noise, that's a different story. Lol

For the price I think the Lee kit is the best value. I went with a single stage Hornady and I think i'll be sticking with the Hornady line. You'll need dies for the calibers you're going to be reloading and a scale. I only reloaded .45acp but for rifle rounds you'll probably want to check OAL...
