I suppose I'll have to call Barnes.. I have found that their bullets do load a ton different than anything else of the same weight. -

Just checked out that die.. Clean as a whistle inside! I am thinking something else is wrong with it. Most of this stuff was brand new, but these dies had a lot of rounds under their belt since the guy was an M1A competition shooter and used .308 heavily. -

So perhaps my real issue is the resizer? Perhaps I am depending on the seater do do more than just seat the bullet in the case. I believe I have had a false understanding that the seating die also provides a type of roll crimp (slight) on the case as it seats the bullet to the proper depth... -

None of the dies are moving after I adjust them.. I made a tool to hold them precisely while tightening the jam nut. Would a Lee factory crimp die help with any of this? What's the benefit of it? -

Also, I watched the videos on the lee site at the link posted.. When I make the final step and turn the due in 1/2 turn to finish the process, it kills my case! I had that video going while doing the process! Is this due to the style of my seating die? -

How does the type of bullet effect the seater choice? Does the dead seater work better with or without cannelures? It seems to have worked better with cannelures in my experimentation. Every time I have set the seater up with brass in place as described there is no pressure at all on the neck/... -

The sizing die adjustment has been altered all over the place as well. Does anyone have the OD/ ID spec that they use? The spec in the instructions from Lee is too large consistently. It makes no sense to have a decapping pin in the seating die, which has really screwed me up. I can remove it... -

Case lengths average 2.005", I tried as little as 1.900" and as much as 2.010" with similar results. Any ideas why the seating die has a decapping pin? I can't find any reference to that in the Lee instructions! Maybe this is a dead length seater, but I guess I'll have to call Lee to see. In... -

Thanks so much. This is exactly what I have done with this seating die over and over and even with some twists added to it to try and find some sweet spot, or at least some method to the madness from presenting some variables. When I follow this method exactly the correct OAL can be attained... -
