  1. Help Please

It sure comes in handy at times like this as well. I'm plinking out ammo that cannot be had for any price.
  2. Help Please

Great advice! I would add: Read at least 2 full reloading books cover to cover before you load anything. Videos are good, but you need a better understanding of what's going on than 'how to' videos are likely to provide.
  3. Advice for novice. (Getting started)

Sounds like the right path. I do mainly rifle ammo right now. I like my single stage. I like being able to handle each case and make sure it feels right. If you have incipient case head failure, you will likely feel it before you see it. Most folks I know who have progressives set them...
  4. Advice for novice. (Getting started)

I think the most important thing for a new reloader to consider is personality..... Be real honest with yourself: -Are you a careful person? -Do you follow instructions well-color inside the lines? -Are you detail oriented? -Do you take pride in doing things better than others? *Reloading data...
  5. Advice for novice. (Getting started)

I have a Franklin case prep center. I like it a lot. I have a hand crank trimmer, but I don't use that anymore. I find hand trimming fussy and time consuming. Electric is the way to go.
  6. Advice for novice. (Getting started)

I am a low-volume guy. I have a Hornady lock and load single stage. I like being able to set dies up and change them easily. I mainly reload 223. One thing I like about single stage is you can handle and inspect each case. Very important to cull out bad ones (although they are rare.) I...
  7. Why???????

The powder thing makes my head explode! Those dip****s who were stealing powder by pouring some into another container could easily have killed someone. Just a little different label (like cfe223 vs cfe308) and some totally unwitting person could easily have been killed-through no fault of...
  8. Why???????

Dude. It's powder. There is nothing to be gained by looking at it. ****ing powder-that won't get sold. There is no danger from opening a box of bullets and handling them. I can think of all kind of dangers from having some idiot ****ing around with powder.
  9. Why???????

They all have a seal which is not broken by just removing the cap. It has to be peeled up. It’s like a weaker version of the seal on a condiment bottle.
  10. Why???????

They probably figured out some way to smuggle a few rounds at a time out in their neckbeards.
  11. Why???????

I guess the world is full of too many assholes. You would think that every once in a while the seal would be broken because some idiot wants to see what powder looks like. But literally every single one at these stores, every time. ****tards!
  12. Why???????

I definitely won’t buy it. All it would take is some clowns to pour a little from one into another, and you’ve got dangerous problems. They should be smart enough to keep it out of reach .
  13. Why???????

Please help me understand something. When I go to a place like academy or bass pro (where the powder is available for people to pick up and handle vs behind a counter) does every single bottle already have the seal broken? What do people hope to accomplish by breaking the seal on all these...
  14. 9mm Subsonics??

I just have a big ol jug of unique and figure I should use that. My hornady data doesn't have 147 gr loads for that stuff..... I'd like to use up that unique if I can-but if not, I might could hunt up some titegroup and use the unique for my 45 stuff.
  15. 9mm Subsonics??

Anyone got any favorite formulas work good subsonic in a G17? Thinking a 124 Gr bullet...
  16. Stuck primer.......

Thanks for the ideas! I got it out!
  17. Stuck primer.......

Well. Now I done it. I like to use a hand primer, and I done got a live primer stuck. So now the case can't be removed from the holder. How to kill that primer?
  18. .223 Loading Questions?

The main thing is to load up on primers and powder. When another panic hits, those things will disappear like crazy. If you are planning to shoot an AR, you should get the CCI #41. If you want to see why, just chamber a round and remove it without firing. You will note a dimple on the...
  19. Lizard Bedding??

Anyone tried it for cleaning brass? Yay or Nay? Specific brands, if worthwhile?
  20. Case prep stations

I picked up the one from Frankfort arsenal. Really like it!
