Unfortunately, there is not one "American can" car made solely on the US. The last car totally made here was the Saturn. Parts are made in foreign countries and assembled here. Some are made in other countries.
Battery life is directly affected by the load that is put on them. The Ford lightning was put under a heavy load so the batteries will not hold the charge as long. If you drove your Tesla at 40 mph the charge will last longer than if you drove it at 70 mph.
Just read an article about the Ford lightning and it's towing capabilities. It said that it had about the same towing distance before it needed a charge as a gas 150 with 4 Gallons of gas in the tank. Roughly 100 miles? Electric cars and trucks are not a new idea, had them in the early 1900s...
Beware some of the Subaru engines, neighbor had a Forrester that the engine blew at 80,000 miles. It as essential a Volkswagen engine with a water jacket around it instead of air cooled, the pancaked style engine.
What bothers me is how much is a replacement battery and installation gonna cost? How are we going to dispose of the old battery and components? How is the supply of material to make those batteries gonna last? Why not use a hydrogen fuel cell that produces no carbon?
Can you imagine nascar all electric cars??? The canned sound tracks of former V8 engines roar around the oval?? If not a sound track, a powerful swooooosh!! I can hardly wait!!
Thanks, agree about the fun. Son in law is a marine, I am ex navy, get a lot of running and give it too. If I joke and pick at people I expect the same back
Ants don't wear out, more are hatched so they just keep going and growing. I love kidding Ford people, they are rabib about their Ford's. My Marine son In law is one. But it's all in fun!!
