Here is my 1986, SR5, 4x4. Bought brand new by my dad, and I brought it home to Georgia last year. I really need to get a lot of body work and paint done to it. The inside is pretty nice as it sits. Entire mechanical is in great condition, and I drive it around on the weekends. -

You are correct. This model was made 10 years before they ever came up with the "Tacoma" idea. The Hilux were very early models. EDIT: You are exactly right. Although it is not on any of the paperwork, this model is still officially called a "HiLux". So there you have it.... IGNORE... -

ANYBODY USE ONE OF THESE OIL PLUG DRAIN VALVES
I put one on my Duramax about three years ago. That works out to about 4 oil changes for me. Never a problem, drip free, and tight as a drum. I also installed a small piece of vinyl hose over the nipple to keep it free of dirt and grime. Well worth the money for me. Jerry -
