I'm sure that is true. Policies differ from company to company. The company where I'm employed has a written policy that is actually enforced. The DL's are secure and security personnel are trained, certified, and background checked.
Capt, it's not your choice whether you will or will not comply with a company's policy when you enter someone else's property. You can choose to walk away, but a business has a right to know who enters their property. The security officer ("rent-a-cop") is just following orders.
