    Spyderco Paramilitary 2. Under $200 with G10 scales. Easy to open, great slicer, holds an edge, and light & easy to carry.

  4. Getting your knife razor sharp

    I use a KME guided sharpening system. I start with 100-300 grit, then progress to 1500 and strop for a nice satin edge. If I'm feeling crazy, I'll go to 12,000 on the stones then strop to .5 micron for a scary sharp mirror edge.

    I received my KME sharpener on Friday, and I'm impressed. It operates similar to the Lansky, except you have unlimited control of the angle from 17-30°. So far I only have the 100,140,300,600,1500 and a strop with 4 cbn diamond emulsion, and I can get a very nice satin edge. I'll order a few...

    Just ordered a KME sharpening kit. A friend has it, and easily gets a hair popping mirrored edge. I spent $242 for everything.
