I've duracoated a couple guns, and I'm far from a great painter. My conclusion: if its a "not so nice" gun and you have a small budget (which is the case for me) and you wanna do it yourself...duracoat. The RIA compact I did came out looking incredible, the Taurus left some to be desired. Not...
I've seen a rabbit headshot by a .22 run and jump, obviously nerves but still took me by surprise. While I've also seen a dog shot once in the head and it never so much as moved. For me, the .22 has the POTENTIAL to be a good SD round...but the .45 is gonna work no question. Odds are the .22...
AK for me, I'm way more comfortable with it. And the 10 extra mags will come in handy as long as they work in the full auto versions the enemy is carrying. Yea, extra weight but, after grabbing an enemy rifle having that much ammo on hand makes it an easy choice for me

My reason besides the obvious: they look cool, they work, they're as accurate as I can make them, so many options
Still need a...
G19 on my person 24/7
AK on hand (SAR-1) if that matters
Short shotgun (if the law is out the window). Makes it lighter and easier to pack
Finally a .22 single action
The reason I don't say .22 rifle is simply the weight. In the scenario I'd assume traveling on foot becomes a regular day...
Can't speak for the new ones. I own an older model that was more than used when I got it, but it's one of the sturdiest, most accurate, and FUN 30/30's I've ever shot. I wouldn't take $350 for it :)
I'm not military, I have 4 close friends that have served as marines and 2 currently serving. They're all good ole gun nuts, but theyve all said again and again. Less weight=better. All my "knowledge" is second hand, but most sidearms tend to stay in the holster more often than not. So, in...
