I don't know how the trigger is on the Mossberg, but my Compass trigger was terrible. I think it came in at about 9 pounds. After working on it, I got it down to 3.3 pounds. The gun shoots really well. I bought one in .223 to leave at my farm all of the time. Best $200.00 rifle out there, in my...
Love the Tikka rifles for hunting and target. I have the 24" CTR with a Zeiss 5 x 25 to shoot targets with, but hunt with a Tikka 6.5 Swede. I have a couple of Tikka Hunters, and the wood is absolutely gorgeous on them. Of course, you can't beat the actions.
If you decide to sell, I have a...
Academy Sports had four of them since Christmas. They put them on sale and they are now gone. I didn't even know the mini 14 was available in 300 Blackout, until I saw them. So far, I like it, especially as a "subsonic" gun.
Range Report......... This thing is a blast. I shot my hand loaded 110 grain V-Max and my 208 grain ELDMs without the first glitch. The 208s were a touch hot at 10.8 grains of Accurate 1680, so I'll probably back of a touch. They were running 1090 to 1115 fps over my magnetospeed. Mostly shot...
In a moment of weakness, I bought one of these Mini 14s today. I just couldn't help it. It was such a good deal, and I didn't have one already. :D I'll probably try shooting the same sub and super loads that I make for my AR 300.
So, anybody got any experience or feedback on these things?
Yes, I do. It has been my main hunting rifle for the last six or seven years. Mine is a stainless Model 70 in a B & C stock. I've actually had deer go straight to the ground, with their feet still in their tracks. It is devastating with the Winchester 150 grain Max Bond rounds, or a 140 grain...
OK, so I want to get a 16" upper to play around with. Of the entry level uppers, who has the best "bang for your buck?" Anybody have the Radical or Hardened Arms?
Nope. They do have free shipping on specific items. You really have to pick and choose. Recently, I went to order some reloading bullets and was over $200.00. Shipping was $23.00. I selected some different bullets and the shipping was free. HUH? I've had that happen a couple of times.
Yep, Smokey Mountain knife works is great. I've been going there since before they built their current store many years ago. I figured I would check out their gun store and Bud's at the same time. I've bought from both stores on-line, and have been pleased, but Bud's shipping is a bit high.
