I stopped at ours Wed. and they did not have any. Sale started Wed. and they had none in. I asked the guy there and he said they did not come in on the truck and might have some Friday. Have not been back.
So it does make a good smoke ring and good smoke flavor?
I will go check them out. I had already looked at their website but wanted some firsthand info.
Thanks.
I have a pit barrel smoker that produces excellent smoked food (anything), but is a pain in the butt trying to maintain temp. "Set it and forget it" ain't true.
Thinking about a pellet smoker but not convinced yet.
Have heard that a pellet smoker does not really impart as much or enough smoke...
I buy a lot of Kroger "Managers Special" meats, steaks, roasts, at mostly half price and vacuum seal. Meat is still fine, just approaching the sell by date. Can control portions easier that way, and saves us a lot of money. Also large packs of boneless chicken breasts on sale. Put in freezer.
Chief Cook and Dishwasher here.
Wife unable to help anymore. I cook for family on Sundays (two grown worthless boys in the kitchen with no wives.)
Biggest headache for me is cleaning up. Always tired and energy level is not up for it anymore.
Like to smoke food but is a lot of work too.
My question is, why do you want to ruin the flavor of good steak with sauce?
Try dry Kosher salt marinade method. Put kosher salt on both sides, don't overdo it. Let sit in fridge for a couple of hours. It does not taste too salty and improves the meat moisture a lot.
