I don't understand the no shipping on other items, like a holster or magazine (again, if the buyer is paying).
Sometimes I've seen a holster be relisted week after week, but the seller is in Rome, Warner Robins, etc (not worth a drive from Augusta for a $30-50 item). I have even offered more...
I thought that as well (happened in GA), but the youtube description says it was in Louisiana. (Hwy 425 in Farriday, Louisiana)
*** also, the uploader of the video posted this less than 1 day ago: I will be uploading TONIGHT the 2nd Video i recorded that Day in Farriday, Louisiana. The Captain...
My personal opinion and preferences are as follows:
Reliability, "industry standard" and value retention: Colt
Best value for the price: PSA
Personal favorite brands (as I have or currently own some of each): PSA, Spikes, BCM
**I would like to try/own Daniel Defense, Noveske, and Larue rifles...
Yeah, I think some areas are better than others as well. We had a Cabela's open up here this year, but other than the opening day sale, I haven't heard of any being there either.
I will have to keep my eye out. My wife has a Smith 15-22 and wants to go shoot!
**Also, to be clear, I wasn't...
I definitely haven't been able to find any locally (aside from 50 round boxes at Academy for $5, limit of 3, only recently) for almost 2 years now.
I haven't looked online much, but have checked PSA fairly regularly and their prices before shipping were pretty high. Right now they have 100...
Agreed. I made this same point earlier. Items in areas with more members and activity seem to go quickly, even if the price is just ok (in my own opinion, of course). In fact, I am keeping an eye on a listing near Atlanta to see if I can prove this point compared to essentially the same item...
I guess my point is, if I was in Gwinnett County or another area with a lot more traders, I firmly believe that package would have sold, for my asking price, very quickly.
Augusta is a big enough area, but not a lot of people on ODT in this area, and/or some Augusta area members aren't very...
My "great deal" comment was generally speaking of course. Multiple comments about it being a good deal SHOULD equate to a cash sale at the asking price.
For example, I believe that a FNP-45 with 4 15 round magazines, FN case, leather holster, and 210 rounds of ammo (including some Hornady...
I would disagree with that to an extent. I have posted items (some recently in fact) and had multiple people say it was a great deal, but I got no offers or had to keep dropping the price.
I think location/people's willingness to drive to meet plays a big factor in whether something sells.
Gun show this past weekend in Columbia County had the 325 count boxes for $40.
Obviously, we all know gun show prices aren't Wal-mart or Academy, but apparently those vendors still believe there is a shortage that they can gouge upon.
