Possibly, but for a certainty you will suffer hearing damage if you discharge a gun indoor without hearing protection. Personally I'd rather take as many external factors out of the scenario as possible.
Are you implying that auditory exclusion will protect your hearing in a self defense scenario or that you won't be able to hear bad guys anyway because of auditory exclusion?
That's fine, I just hope you practice shooting indoors without ear protection. Personally I don't rely on police response. I want to be as effective as possible for as long as possible. But to each his own.
