I have this on an LR308 that I have hunted with, and it really gathers in the light. I prefer the Viper HS (a lot more $$) that I hunt with in the woods just because it is clearer and lighter. Deer don't seem to care either way.:D
I put my old hunting 4x12 on my Model X 44mag. I have a piston coming so I can shoot it suppressed with my TiRant 45. I was told by AAC that it would be okay to shoot supers with the longer barrel length of the rifle.
I'm running a Viper HS 2.5x10 on my hunting gun and love it. Of course, it is a suppressed mutt AR in 7.62x39 that has harvested a lot of deer in its time. Maybe not the best glass; but for the money works great in GA woods.
Shooting my FN 509c and Shadow Systems from 7 to 25 yards. Most were at 10 yards, groups spread some at 25 yards. Learning how it points is the learning curve you have to get used to.
Go to DG&P and get 3 of the Sig MSR dot in either red or green and a box or two of ammo to zero them with. $61 or $71 (gr) I think the last time I was there. Worth the drive and great people to deal with.
