    Took my Jeep to a transmission shop a few years ago. They told me it needed a rebuild to the tune of $3000. I took the pan off and turned out it needed a solenoid and pressure switch, Mopar parts were $150. Seems some mechanics don't want to put in the time to properly diagnose issues.
