  1. I need to vent about an outdoor company

Was telling my son the other day about when I was his age, back in the day, when you ordered something it was 6-8 weeks. Yet we survived.
  2. Any of y’all been your own GC on your house build?

If your guy made $50k, he probably saved you $75k. Built my first house myself and made stupid mistakes, built houses for a while, so I know what I am doing and am still a contractor and real estate agent to this day, if I was about to build a house,I would hire a home builder.
  3. Anybody else seen an uptick in long distance SPAM calls coming in to your cell phone.

When I am not busy or just driving, I either ask them to hold, which they often do, or start asking them for medical advice with very detailed descriptions of rashes, etc.
  4. Backyard chickens…

The one night you forget to close the pen is the night the predators show up. Raccoons wiped us out about a week ago
  5. Concrete disposal-what are my options

    Such bad advice.
  6. The Cult of the Tacoma

Ha, she ended up getting a car, which actually makes the most sense. It is a Toyota or Honda, cannot remember which, Camry or something like that. She and I went a test drove a Tacoma, having grown up in my F-350 Dually, she was thoroughly unimpressed. She has learned that the car sits most...
  7. The Cult of the Tacoma

I actually got some great information, but thanks.
  8. The Cult of the Tacoma

My daughter is about to leave for college and has an athletic scholarship that she earned on her own. We are planning to replace her old vehicle with something more reliable. She said she wanted a truck, cool, then she said she wanted a Tacoma, I was thinking F-150. That made sense, they have...
  9. What truck to buy

If you buy a Toyota, you will get laughed off the Jobsite, grocery getters are for weekend warriors. Ford, Dodge or Chevy, each has their strengths and weaknesses. I can tell you I am done with diesel. The EPA has ruined em, stick with a 3/4 ton or larger, and don't waste money on silly stuff...
  10. Splitting Axe/Maul Recommendations

That is cheap. My son is $105.00 for a 1/4 cord and if the delivery is close, he will stack for $50.00. Most people cut it smaller than your liking because you want a piece that will dry efficiently and needs to be light enough for a woman to carry.
  11. Splitting Axe/Maul Recommendations

Thanks. For those of you too old or decrepit to split your own anymore, my 15 year old son started a firewood business last year and is a chopping machine. He already has about 10 cords ready for next year and will deliver and stack. We are in Canton, close to Alphretta/Milton. Has a lot of...
  12. Splitting Axe/Maul Recommendations

Is this guy still in business? I have tried to contact him
  13. Snowpocalypse 2022 - what’s happening so far?

As an expert on the subject, I promise, it was not a Yeti. In the south we have Sasquatch in the Appalachian region and Two Ton Togarugas from about Jasper south. They are almost never seen because they stay in trees and sound like owls. They are all related, different sub species
  14. Snowpocalypse 2022 - what’s happening so far?

Pretty sure that was a Two Ton Togaruga, no Yetis in Georgia.
  15. Someone please educate me on homeowner safes

Looking to purchase a safe for someone else, and would like to understand what commercially available, reasonably priced safe we should be able to expect to purchase that is both secure and fire retardant. Is there somewhere I should be looking on the Northside of Atlanta?
  16. Good places to eat in Ellijay

The Cajun place is pretty good.
  17. You might want to re-evaluate your safe

What is RSC? What is TL-15? What is TL-30?
  18. Why can't we build houses more efficiently?

Many moons ago, I was a salesman, and one of the products I sold was a very innovative prefabricated housing system. It simply did not work because there are too many variables in the sites and the concrete foundation. Stick building with wood allows you to smoothly make up for these variables...
  19. Any great barbecue in Blue Ridge ?

Bigguns if you don't like Barbecue. Col Pooles, or Two Brothers in Jasper, if you like the real stuff.
