    That's most likely a split jamb prehung door. Yeah, you could just "pry that there piece off and slap in a new on". How are you at routing out the mortises for the hinges on that new jamb blank? Depending on the door size, a new pre hung unit will run ABOUT $100-$125. Figure on paying...

    Funny. Should be a standard size interior door. Measure the slab and get a replacement pre-hung unit of the same size from your local big box hardware store. Should take 3-4 hours to remove and replace the existing door, swap out door knob, caulk and paint.
