    If u put in atvthe kayak ramp byvthe rocks on the cape its a short paddle to get where the scallops are. There is no short paddle to blacks. That needs to be done by boat

    I would put the yaks in at the kayak launch on the right at the bend where the big rocks and houses start. Go out in front of the antannea and there is something sticking out of the water in that area as well to give you refrence

    NE and SE sides of blacks island . Maybe 1/4 mile away. You can put in at the public ramp in port st joe, presnells marina, or the ramp on the cape by the big rocks. Good luck

    Put a size bb split shot about 12 in above that hook. Put a whole red wiggler on there and just let it bounce along the bottom, keep the line tight with a nice droop in it. If it stops pull up on the rod, you should either feel the fish or free the bb from the bottom

    Something like that will float more naturally and is so sharp it will set itself.

    I use either gamakatsu or owner mosquito hooks in sizes from 8 to 6 to 4 depending on n average size of fish. Those hooks will set themselves.
