I was going to do that, but, I know I will swing a metal hook right through my window glass.
I can snug the canoe higher up, but, I was having to reach a bit.
I thinking about a cable hoist. The poles can hold the weight, but, I am not sure about the stress from pulling sideways etc
Great idea! The kids are harassing me bad.
If I get this sorted it should be easy to drop it and go.
I have another girl coming in a few weeks so it may have to hang out some.
Basically I have the rope with some rings so I can hoist one end then the other.
I just don't want to drop it on my SUV or have it have problems in high wind.
(The unused ring in the first picture is for a wind tie off if it stays this way.)

I'm looking for thoughts on how to store my canoe.
I have it stored under my porch over winter to keep it out of the sun and out of sight.
Right now a trailer is not an option and the canoe is 18'.
