Good deal.
This stuff usually isn’t that difficult, just have to use the right tools/equipment and common sense. If you question what you are doing, have a competent smith do it.
I am glad you resolved the issue as painless as possible.
Thanks for posting too ! :)
I love my Bulldog. Got it from my father a couple decades back when he was still alive. He had it for a good while too, (since the late 60’s - early 70’s Maybe ….?) .
But he had the bbl chopped down, hammer bobbed and action/trigger tuned on it. Makes an awesome carry ! Even on an ankle...
Well, I can honestly say we done a hella lot worse as younguns. My brothers and I were pure hellions ! My poor mother , God bless her !
We NEVER done that ! Lol. But we done some pretty “crappy” stuff !
Uh, yeah….I think you need to take that to a really experienced and competent professional gunsmith and let them see if it can be put back correctly or if any parts are needed.
My advice would be to box/pkg the whole thing up and send it to Taurus.
That is what I would do.
Good luck !!
I figure if I can disassemble anything that goes with or on a car , reassemble it and it work correctly, I can do the same with just about any firearm.
I have been a Master Mechanic for over 25yrs…..I have built plenty of carburetors, brakes, engines, transmissions, etc.,
I think I could...
What a cool old piece ! Great job on the clean up :thumb:
Have a pro inspect it maybe ?? I’m not sure what they could do that you couldn’t but maybe it could be fired actually ??
I was thinking for someone with different ears sizes !! Lol.
or for maybe a whole family ??
Really though - this is good to know , use these for all kinds of stuff !
