@cmshoot My wife was up by Georgia Firing line and ran in there and a nice young guy in the back got the plate off for her. Thank you for the offer of help, it is greatly appreciated! Now let's see if I can mess up putting the shield smsc on :D
Happy wife, happy life...I tried to talk her into the Glock 43x or a Sig P365...but she wanted the hellcat. I actually like the gun, cleaned it last night and all the internals look solid, etc...other than these two stupid screws lol
I don't know if I want to screw it up any further. we won't need the screws as the shield has a different whole placement, but I've never drilled out stripped screws before.
Wife finally decided on stepping up to a higher caliber carry pistol and she landed on the Hellcat OSP w/ Shield SMSc. I get it home, go to take out the two top screws on the OSP plate cover and the t10 hex bolts won't catch...I thought maybe my hex keys were just rounded so ran up to Lowes to...
I've been tinkering with turning my Glock 23 into a USPSA gun (I haven't shot USPSA, but interested in it). But for that price I may just keep the Glock as my car gun and get something bigger to shoot matches
**UPDATE ~ I'M AN IDIOT**
I've been thinking about the feeding issue on my wife's gun all day while I was working. I'll preface the below by saying I'm a novice to messing with gun internals and I'm not the most "mechanically inclined" person in how my brain works. All that being said, here is...
I never shot a round with the factory parts in it. I took it down to the shop to give it a good cleaning earlier and it does appear to be a potential mag issue. I had 3 rounds in the mag, the 3rd (to last) round chambered fine...pulled the bolt back, cartridge ejected fine...2nd (to last) round...
I'm going to see if a little more break-in, a good cleaning and these mag springs I just ordered do prior to considering contacting Ruger. I think it's probably something simple given it ran 8 out of 10 rounds with zero issue, with base level range ammo.
I'll report back after my next range...
I just ordered those springs, so we shall see what those do...and I'll still put some rounds thru it next weekend after a good first cleaning before the springs arrive.
My Mark IV has really had no issues from day 1...before and after I installed the Volquartsen Accurizing Kit...guess I just...
We probably put 150 rounds thru it this morning. I’m going to clean it well, take it back out next Saturday and put it thru another couple hundred rounds and see what happens.
I told my wife if it’s still jacked up she will just need to not miss much during the April Steel Challenge @ RBGC...
