Aces and Eights in Lawrenceville. Myron is a great guy. Recrowned a barrel for my a while back. Could probably do the set back work the OP asked about. I never asked him about doing that.
  11. MAJOR UPDATE: Phineas C. Zoid - Pistol Whack . . . . . (my first custom 1911 build)

Did you get the trigger reset/sticking figured out? I will look in the Khunhausen book to see if it addresses that issue, as I have not seen it happen on any 1911 I have come across. Good luck at the range.
  12. MAJOR UPDATE: Phineas C. Zoid - Pistol Whack . . . . . (my first custom 1911 build)

If I remember correctly the trigger goes in before the mag catch. But you are on the right track. I could look at the Khunhausen books to see what he suggests.
  13. MAJOR UPDATE: Phineas C. Zoid - Pistol Whack . . . . . (my first custom 1911 build)

Nice...looks solid, but that first pic shows some jiggle. Lol
  14. Stevens model 416 bolt

Don't have one of those. Might need to visit goodwill and see if they have one.
  15. Stevens model 416 bolt

Hello ODT, I have an old military 22lr rifle, and wanted to clean the bolt to make sure that it is not gummed up. I have not been able to get it taken apart, and I wanted to see if any of you might be able to offer suggestions as to the best corse of action to take on this. Thanks in advance.
  16. MAJOR UPDATE: Phineas C. Zoid - Pistol Whack . . . . . (my first custom 1911 build)

Welcome to another addiction. Good luck with the build. I have the Jerry Kuhnhausen books on the 1911. There is a lot of material in them that is area specific, but the index could narrow it down if there are any issues that come up.
  17. Barrel Removal

Could try Myron @ Aces&8s. He lives in the Buford/Dacula area. Don't know exactly where the shop is now...but he does good work, although I never had a rebarrel done. (678) 557-5763.
  18. 1911 parts

I hadn't thought of it till now but maybe Davids gun room in Norcross.
  19. 1911 parts

Brownells.com lol No, seriously. They have it all. No one local that I know of.
  20. 1911 Help !!! 1911 help needed

Trigger, sear, disconnector, sear spring. As said once you know it is relatively easy...only goes in correct one way, if it doesn't go one way turn part over and try again. Good luck. You can do it.
