  1. Black Powder rifle clean

This is the best thing I have used yet. I just cut them into patches and shove them through, the rinse with water and thoroughly dry. Did wonders on a Ruger Hawkeye stainless with a mysteriously sticky chamber when nothing else worked.
  2. Need someone to bed two rifles

Might be a bit far, will wait for more suggestions but thanks
  3. Need someone to bed two rifles

I have an M77R and 788 that need to be bedded. I wanted to use Dobbs but he was backed up and could not take them on. I live in Decatur but willing to travel some distance for good work. Not interested in going to a certain guy in Douglasville.
  4. Anyone else been burned by "Hogleg Smith"?

Nope, no way. I will never send anyone his way. Took a Ruger SRH there years ago for him to smooth up as well as a Savage to get a new front sight (was not an iron sighted rifle). He stated 6 weeks and I was fine with that. Called him at week seven and I was next up, week eight no answer. We...
  5. Has anyone been to Hogleg Smith?

Hogleg had one of my rifles and a revolver of mine from Sept 14-January 14(quoted 2-4 weeks) and did absolutely no work at all to either. He was also rude and arrogant making no apologies. He came highly recommended but in the end turned out to be a total waste of time. Undecided on the revolver...
  6. Has anyone been to Hogleg Smith?

I was wondering if anyone had been to Hogleg Smith in the last four months. If so, what did you think? How was your experience? Was the work done well and in a timely manner?
  7. What to do now? Advice needed.

I feel like he should do it over, the way we discussed it originally, using a screw down base. He said he changed his mind because drilling and tapping was not reliable due to barrel wall thickness, although this barrel is as thick or thicker than any iron sighted rifle I own. At any rate, I had...
  8. What to do now? Advice needed.

I decided to have iron sights installed on my Sav110 that the previous owner had cut to 18". Well I went to pick it up at the smith yesterday, sick and not really wanting to be out but anxious to get it back. Anyway, after waking from a long nap I decided to take a good look at the work and...
