Yes the bx is better than the stock trigger. There are many trigger upgrades for the 10/22. Kidd offers a parts upgrade.trigger and all new triggers. Volquartson has them too. Personally I like the kidd stuff
almost any spray mold release works very well as a release agent for bedding.. I use some Brownell's bedding compound, but mainly Marine Tex for most all my bedding. works very well
The simple reason is there are quite a few folks that have zero mechanical skills and frankly don't know a phillips screwdriver from a torx or even a flat head.. lots of.gun problems are solved by a good cleaning and proper lubrication

Unless you kill the rust it will be there forever.
Plug up the nipple and fill the barrel with evapo-rust. Then leave it over night...best rust remover ever.. used it on many rusted muzzle loaders. Don't spill it on the outside of the barrel

Chances are pretty good that the swap will.go well...I've probably swaped a dozen rem
barrels over the years and only 1 the had to be cut and rechambered a touch. Any competent.smith can do it..if you want the stamped caliber area to line up then the swap will cost you more to have the barrel...

7075 used to be classed as un weldable as is 2024.. there are some unique methods to have it done..I'd suggest you talk with the best micro tig / laser welder I know.. Jim French with JMF welding over in Duluth. He has an FFL and does custom welding on firearms as well as industrial items.
