I built a Sten mk3 rifle. Parts kit from Apex, tube and semi auto parts from Indianapolis Ordance. It cost me more than I expected, but not everyone has a Sten. :)
The Demill was pretty involved, lots of cutting, grinding, etc... the welding of the magwell was probably the hardest part, it has...
I forgot there was a larger end. Guess it's time to build another to refresh my memory. Lol.
Then maybe just eat the cost, and order the real deal. Add a few extra goodies to the order, so you can justify shipping easier. :)
Got it going again. It was the sear release lever. Got the lever release in the mail, and installed it today. It's funny how many parts there are in the gun, and how tightly everything fits. The part wasn't a direct swap though, it needed some filing to fit just right, lots of trial and error. I...
I ordered the sear release lever, hoping that's it. I know I'll have to take the grips off then, so I'll wait for that. If it turns out to be the frame itself, then that'll be a bummer, and not gonna happen, frame is police engraved. I wouldn't be entirely surprised if Smith and Wesson doesn't...
I'm thinking or ordering the sear release lever, since its under $5. The one in there now looks polished, maybe from wear. But I can't measure it to see if it's in spec.
I've got a Smith and Wesson 5903 that was given to me by a family member, but it seems to have an issue with the decocker, it won't always decock. I have to push pretty hard with several attempts to get it to decock, or pushing it downward on the slide works too. This gun has seen thousands of...
First thought is a bad mag catch (since that's cheap to replace). If you're still having issues after replacing that, contact polymer 80. Could be a flaw in the polymer curing process, not the right dimensions or something.
I recently acquired a Mossberg Shockwave, and found that the grip was a tad bit slippery. I busted out some good old 3M ladder tape that I had, and cut out some shapes for the grip. I figured I would share this here, because why not. :P Now this certainly doesn't substitute the tried and true...
I didn't think about the powder burning time, I'll have to look into that. My concern is the unburned powder, I can always clean a dirty gun. Now silly question time: Let's say I don't clean it for a while, leaving a small buildup of powder in the receiver. How likely would it be for that powder...
Anyone? Just a theory: If I could add weight to the carrier, then it would help slightly delay the blowback? The bolt carrier/recoil spring seems to be the same compressed length in both uppers, the barrel starts in the same position.
Alright, I'm digging up an old complaint here, but curious to see if anyone might have a solution.
I have a registered SBR Masterpiece Arms MPA30SST that leaves unburned gunpowder in the receiver after a trip to the range. I am trying to remember details since it's been a while since I last...
Yes, I mean the etching itself, not the colors. I've already done an 80%, and what a pain in the butt. I used a P-Touch and an exacto knife, then etched it out. Looks ok, not showroom quality, but works fine. I figured fill the etching with paint, and it wouldn't look as bad.
I could always...
