I have had Full Blown Firearms in Hampton do some hot blueing for me, and they did a good job. Long wait, but good job. I am sure they can help you with the other issues too. Dan
Thanks everyone. I did get the choke out, with the help of Kroil already, and was thinking of just chasing the threads and using other chokes I have on hand.
I will try 87kgh method of using one of these chokes to clean up the threads. And by the way, it wasn't me that allowed it to get this...
I have a Win 1200 that the original owner neglected the choke , and likely never cleaned it. I finally got the choke out, with much Kroil, and cursing.
I would like to borrow or rent a tap, to chase the threads and clean it up.
Thanks, Dan
Hmm, try soaking the bolt in solvent, or spraying with brake cleaner. The other side may be cruddy. Use a dental pick or similar to make sure the bolt head recess is clean, so the rim of the shell fits in it easily. You could try pulling out the extractor, and parts. Stretch the spring a...
And here is the bolt with parts not installed. You can grab with your fingernail and flick it out, or use a little screw driver. I suggest covering with a towel so parts don't fly into outer space. Nothing holds it in but spring tension. The spring fits into a hole, with a plunger, then the...
OK the firing pin problem I had was with a model 70, not 80 or 81. So it may not apply.
However, if you are still having fail to extract or eject, this may help. The extractor and ejector are similar looking, but not the same. Don't mix them. The extractor has to have a sharply defined hook...
As mentioned above, any 700 adl stock (long action).
You can glass bed the original stock and seal it, and float the barrel. Adjust your trigger. It'll make a fine hunting rifle. I have one in 30-06 that will shoot honest one inch groups at 100 yds.

I'll correct myself from above post, if you use a tapered punch to smooth out dimple, you won't be able to drop in from rear. Find a way to do it, like grab it will needle nose vise grips and then tap on vise grips with small hammer. you are basically trying to put the metal back into the...
Capnmike, open the bolt and look very carefully at the breach where the firing pin may strike it. If it did strike it, it will dimple it and leave a small burr there, which catches the brass and keeps it from extracting. If you look at the brass you dig out , you'll see a scratch on it where...
Heat a little and try to remove the tube, if it doesn't budge, heat a little more. Try in heating increments. It will be way hotter than you can handle with bare hands, use gloves. I am going to guess you can over heat it, but the LocTite should give up before that. Once it breaks free...
I 2nd the idea the chamber may be glazed. I am guessing some steel cased ammo has a lacquer coating to keep it from rusting, and it cooks off and builds up on the chamber. I had this issue with an old mosin. It is not easy to clean out . More than just wiping with an oversize brush. Like...
Have you cleaned the chamber with a brush? Or removed the extractor and spring and cleaned?
I'd replace the extractor and spring, before thinking it was the barrel. Could be either, or both. Dan
It IS red LocTite. I have removed one myself. You need to get it a lot hotter than a hair dryer, a heat gun should work. You'll chew it up with pliers that are not cushioned. Dan
