It's good that you enjoy that type of thing so it's not like work. Accuracy will improve with another scope and when you find which ammo it likes. I would be proud to own that rifle.

Looks good so far. Is that barrel code C MM if so April of 1943. I have one from 1949 and also a tube fed one from 1951 (if I remember right). Anyway looks good waiting to see the finished product.
This is coming right along and it looks good.You don't think the barrel band screw will stick out to far and detract from the overall look?(The head, I assume you will cut the other end)
Looks good to me. In post # 34 picture 3 the close up side view it looks more brown is that the true color or is it more red like the other pictures? I have a Remington Sportmaster model 512 that is red.It is from the late 40"s.Just took the stock outside and looked at it close I am sure it has...
