Terrible sorry gentlemen. I have been deficient in reporting on the metamorphosis of this rifle and for that I'm truly sorry.
So the used 3x9 scope was tossed and a reasonably priced Primary Arms 4x14 FPP scope with new rings transformed this rifle.
No pics of range work but at 25 yards one...
Wait, you haven't shot it yet... Tisk, tisk, tisk. :becky:
Really good review and I was thinking hard about that Viper scope 14x to 18x flavor. Thanks for checking the ring height for the 30mm Viper scope. That's what I was thinking.
Looking forward to a range report to see what kind of groups...
Yep, I was trying to figure out that buttstock out and the ODT came to my aid. The hole at the bottom of the buttstock accepts the push button quick release (QD) sling swivels.
The fore stock has the MLOK slots and an MLOK mount that accepts the QD sling swivel works great and frees up space...
I pre-ordered it. https://www.theoutdoorstrader.com/threads/ruger-precision-rimfire-rifle.1581026/
I was going back and forth and pretty much sold on picking up a CZ .22 LR and going that route but the Ruger has the threaded barrel, adjustable trigger/stock and a stock that won't swell or...
It's still in the ammo can. I'm going to grab some calipers and measure it. I suspect it has a bit too much plastic on the body as it seized in the magwell nearly halting testing.
Thanks!
Yeah I wasn't too impressed but that may be my doing as the rifle had a 3x9 scope that the small dot target was difficult for me to see clearly. The lead sled was loose and wobbled some without any weight used. I should have brought another tack driver to compare groups to see if it was...
So I had no match ammo but CCI shoots pretty darn good. Still I was not impressed by the results. Probably my old eyes and slight astigmatism, a bit of wind and relative low power scope with no trigger adjustments made.
To note I used the 15 round magazine without an issue.
The standard 10...
A thread in progress.
Just returned from the range with a Ruger Precision Rimfire Rifle.
I had a given set of rings (crap) and did some bench shooting at 56 yards. I ran a wet patch (see image) and a couple of dry patches through the bore prior to departing.
Icky don't not clean a barrel...
Their first tactical production rifle the 110 FP I stole from my Dad. It's a tack driver.
I met one of our ODT precision machinist and rifle builders, toured his shop and he had some new rifles he was building for customers based on the Savage 10 actions. He claimed the bolts didn't need blue...
It's not a double strike capable pistol. But it is a light weight, easy to carry pistol that spits 230 grains of pure hate to those who are deserving of it.
I grew up shooting revolvers and was more accurate single action but the challenge was shooting double action as that is where truth be...
So slightly out of battery with the extractor hook still attempting to ride over the rim....
I'd be curious just how many pounds of extractor tension is present. If it's over +5 lbs. I'd reduce it to close to 3 lbs. I'd also polish the extractor face where it contacts the rim of the round...
It's not that much extra work. I just keep a camera around and try to slow down while working to get some shots of progress and the occasional inevitable reverse progress with corrective action. Thanks for the positive feedback.
I'm sure you're teaching her to budget money as well. You can hope. Mine found her first must have pistol, a Sig 238 with Ti rainbow finish..... Mine turned 13 this summer...
That shot of her install/removing the operating piston on an AK style rifle is awesome. I consider these basic...
Like this one..... The 21A Bobcat is an excellent tiny pocket .22LR pistol out of the box. The tip up barrel is great for weak hands that have problems pulling a slide back. One of these suppressed is a desire I have.
Thanks! This was once my Dad's gun as well.
Too kind sir, but...
The point where the bullet contacts the ramp, less hump, less jump.
Next pull the firing pin, pin. It just pushes out.
The extractor comes out with just pushing it in and flipping it out, It goes back in the opposite. Oddly the extractor was polished with a sharp edge (can catch)...
Take down continued:
Depress the hammer with a non-marring rod to clear the rear of the slide and allow it to advance forward.
Field stripped in to basic parts.
First off breaking the hump and polishing the feed ramp where the bullet strikes the feed ramp.
I used 400, 800...
AMT produced all stainless guns back in the day and was founded 1977. They created a very small semi-auto pocket pistol the "Back-Up" intended for law enforcement use but popular for civilians as well.
This tiny semi-auto was designed to slip in a pocket and used for close work. The all...
