I’ve got a Government model, Commander, and a Star PD.
Love ‘em all. Don’t shoot +p loads in any of them, so recoil is tolerable.
My American Derringer in .45 acp however...

I was in the same boat as you some time ago, I ended up picking up the Kimber custom Lw from a member here, bass pro usually carries them for around 500-559 and they have several color options (stainless/black two tone, FDE, all black) it has their match sights (white dot rear, fiber optic red front) and their match barrel overall I’ve been very happy with it and have been able to hold tight groups with it.

obviously there are a plethora of options out from rock island to the lower tier rugers, and Springfields

it really comes down to price and features best of luck to you in your decision
