10/19 hunt

Been back in the stand with my Son since 4PM. It got up to 72 here. It’s starting to cool off now. We are sitting in a rather small hardwood patch that’s surrounded by big select cut pines and short planted pines. Still a few acorns on the ground and feeding sign everywhere.

It was a beautiful calm morning out in Bartow. Walked in at 7:10 and got blown at, then I decided to sit in my afternoon spot instead.

Twin yearlings I've seen all summer long came by around 8am. Start hearing shots near and far.

A small doe walked in to munch on acorns about 8:40, few minutes later a bigger doe came in from different direction and joined in on breakfast.

The 2nd doe was quite plump for her height. And she's about the size I'd process on my own and make venison jerky with. And I'm carrying a new rifle that needed to taste blood...
