Friday got down to the hunting club and sighted in my new rifle, decided despite the wind I'd go sit in a tree. After 2 hours of treestand rodeo the wind died down a little. Around 630 2 does came out of thick woods and into the food plot, I shot the larger one. Saturday morning saw one doe, evening I watched 6 does come into the food plot and eat from about 530 until dusk. Right at last light a saw a decent 6 point and 4 point come walking out together and hitting their antlers. This morning I saw 7 does and a 4 point. When he came out he was just grunting away, I grunted back just to see what he would do, he grunted a couple times and turned around, I either spooked him or he knew he was in a bigger buck's area. On the walk back to the house I walked up on 2 more does on the trail. Yesterday between hunts we checked out a couple areas and found about 8 good fresh rubs and pawings. Can't wait to see whatever is making those good markings and can't wait to see them bucks chasing those does. Wish I could've taken more pics, especially some of the bucks but here's a decent picture of the herd yesterday.
I could've busted the mess out of the does last night but it was nice to just sit back and watch them. Although I couldn't resist scoping one in.
