shot a mature Doe this morning, I was aiming for where the ear meets the skull, the shot is lower than I like (she moved as I pulled the trigger, that's my story)
I've been hunting since 13 Sept, have seen many deer in the thick stuff but out of range for bow & muzzle loader
even though rifle season is in I decided to stick with the muzzle loader until I got one, now to spend a couple hours cleaning it and put it away till next year
Now it's center-fire time
NOTE: when you age venison in a fridge be sure to put a fan in there that runs 24/7 to circulate the air (I got a battery fan made for a fridge) the meat needs to be sitting on a wire rack not a solid shelf, I let the meat sit for 10 days and turn the meat every day
