10mm Ammo

I carry a 10mm pistol in the woods loaded with Underwood 220 grain hard cast, and I like that choice a lot. But lately, I have been looking around for self defense ammo for CCW. The Federal 200 grain HST looks pretty darn good based on videos, etc. Any opinions out there?

It seems like I have seen videos where the bullet separates even in gelatin. It seemed like the bullet wasn't designed for such high velocities. I could be wrong.

If I were not worried about pass through I would choose differently but due to the crowded nature of the environment I carry in most times, my current carry ammo for the 10 is TNQ frangible hollow points.

Ballistics look pretty good - like a 10mm should.

165 or 180 Speer HP from GA Arms. 31.00 for 50 rounds. My 10mm (G40) loves the 165gr.

Load my own..but generally go 180 g Xtp. Dont have no grizzlers just black bears n hogs in twiggs. Nothing has argued with it yet!
