I can't find data that gives me the hard hitting heavyweight high velocity like factory ammo claims to have.

Anyone out there have good data for 180-220gr. Pushing 1500fps or more?

Thanks in advance.

I have used Vihtavouri 3N38 and N340 to get to those levels reliably. 3N38 has a max load published that gets 180 gr to 1289. That is not a huge leap to get to 1500. I would only use new Starline brass in a gun with a well supported case head with precise powder measurement on those loads. A one grain overcharge on those rounds already at 1500 + would probably not be noticed until you pull the trigger and could lead to a rapid disassembly event.

What factory ammo claims 1500 fps for a 200 gr. bullet?

Underwood and Buffalo show velocities in the neighborhood of 1200 FPS for 200-225 grain bullets. That is consistent with my experience loading "Norma" loads.

You can get those speeds out of a rifle length barrel, but not gonna happen in pistol length. 1225 is about the fastest I have been able to push a 200 grainer out of a 5" barrel and that is with flattened primers.

I think I am hitting 1650 with a 180 in the Hi-Point 10mm Carbine. But you are talking 11" more of barrel.

IIRC, I was hitting in the 1500s with the 135 Nosler bullets in the 5" barrel.

I agree, never seen anything claiming to be that fast with a 200.

I was chronographing .44 mag loads from a Dan Wesson .445 SuperMag, so overloads were not a concern and i had plenty of room to load stretch the 210-225 gr, loads for more case space. About 1280 was the most I could do without bad things happening to the cases.

i could hit 1400 + in with the .445
