14 gauge, w/ fiberglas bbl

Ever hear of shotgun barrels being made of fiberglass?
I haven't. Until now.
I know that a major gun company experimented with ceramic barrels some 50 years ago, but I never heard of a fiberglass barrel.

Well check this out, and note what gauge shells that it uses --14 gauge!

I remember somebody coming out with shotguns with a fiberglass barrel, but it had a steel liner inside. I don`t remember who made them, but it was a major manufacturer. I don`t remember a 14 ga. It didn`t sell.

My best friends dad had a Winchester 12 ga semi auto with a fiberglass bbl. (I think it was steel lined) I remember it was pretty lite weight - and kicked like it too.

The Winchester 59 was pretty innovative. Not only did it have the fiberglass sleeve over the barrel, it was one of the first commercially available shotguns with interchangeable choke tubes.

When I worked at Pannell’s Firearms we had one in there. I had never seen one before, so I educated myself on them.
