The round is great, but I don't care much for the Savage rifles, which was the only manufacturer for this caliber for a while.
I saw a Matt Stainless/Brown Laminate Ruger M77 mark 2 in the 17 WSM, at Bane's Army Store, it was sweet.

i got one of the first ones,put 5 or 6 thousand down ,i love it on a calm day,killed almost anything you can think of. billDoes any body have one---what do you think about it
Personally I think its an answer to a question no one has asked, but that doesn't mean I wouldn't have one or that it wouldn't be fun. I think the Winchester 1885 low wall would be a blast. If you are going to buy a rifle, why not buy it from the one that invinted the round?
