1888 Springfield Trap Door

I hand load all my own for my 45-70 trapdoor. I will never load it with black powder I us ally use trailboss look it up. I have a couple hundred loaded so I haven't had the need to remember the load data I used. Or like others said just buy ammo made for a trapdoor.

I agree. God knows I've shot much worse and I still have all my digits. I'm also an idiot, so there's that too ...

I ran across an 1884 at a decent price last night so it came home with me.

The only local 45-70 ammo I could find was HSM Cowboy loads at Cabelas. Personally I won't shoot them in my trapdoor but I bought a few for the Sharps, mostly for the brass.
