Jim Stroh Custom. Don’t see many of these. Won’t be anymore since he retired a few years ago.

Jim worked a Browning Hi Power for me that belonged to my Dad. It's one of my favorites. I drove to his house, met his wife and he showed me around his shop.
Jim is a craftsman with metal.
Beautiful Colt you have there.
Thanks.
The slide on this gun is so smooth...like ball bearings. And I can't tell if the frame is hard chrome or nickel but it's beautiful.
My favorite 1911. I would have loved to meet Jim...pistol smith of the year puts him in some heady company.
I keep looking for one of his Ruger revolvers - apparently he was a revolver guru also.
You can't see it on my crappy pics but Jim's name is on the slide so I know it's a full custom. I wish I could get the build sheet on it .
Jim is probably most world renown for his revolver work, but he is an artist and worked on a lot of 1911's and Hi Powers. He is also know for his fine metal welding skills.
He's famous for his line boring of revolvers: http://www.sixguns.com/range/stroh45.htm

Maybe you will like this one better since my 1903 wasn't quite what you wanted to see on a 1911 thread. I took the pearl grips off today and added some very old Sambar Stag grips.

This is a beautiful example of a true Classic Colt.
I was just joshing you on the 1903. They are all JMB creations!
