Picked up a Springfield 1911A1 loaded a while back and the trigger has been bugging me. Real gritty, heavy and inconsistent break.
Borrowed a jig for the sear and set to it. Arkansas stoned the sear and broke the back edge. Polished the trigger bar and sides of the trigger.
Smoothed out the parkerized finish on everything that contacted metal.
Adjusted the spring to a 4.75 lb pull.
Fitted and installed a Valkyrie muzzle brake.
Took about 2 hours as this is my 1st go around on a 1911.
I'm pleased with the results and now have to hit the range.
I believe I'm going to polish the feed ramp next and be done with it.
