We have an old, old house at the front of my property. My wife decided to dig through some of the old boxes in there and found this time capsule. More than a decade before I was born. So cool.

My Dad owned a Western Auto store in the 1970’s and I worked there from 9th-12th grade installing tires, oil changes, putting up new inventory, putting together bikes, trikes, wagons, sweeping, dusting and every other job that needed doing. Great memories and learned a lot of skills and lessons that have helped in my life.

Unfortunately under the POS Jimmy Carter administration interest rates went through the roof, economy tanked and he had to close the doors as did many other small businesses in town.

Bought my first gun at a Western Auto, circa 1977, a Winchester 190, Dad preferred the wood on it to the 10/22 on the shelf.
Put more than 15k rounds through it, still going strong with a Weaver 4x rimfire scope on it......
