2- 380 revolvers for my grandparents

I'm sure you've thought this plan through but the 380 snubs are kind of a limited market niche or novelty item. Probably gonna be thought to find one used much less two.is there even anyone besides Taurus making 380 snubs?

Taurus is the only one I know of at this time. It is a 5 shot hammerless. Bobbed hammer, that is.

Didn’t S&W make a 380 bodyguard revolver?
They may have. I don't keep track of Smith models since there's SO many of them and they're so expensive. The Taurus modeis ARE nice and compact. But they're only 5 shots. If you want to buy a snub revolver with not much recoil then maybe one in 9mm. Gotta be cheaper ammo and more than one company making them. If I'm not mistaken I think Ruger has one in the LCR line.

Thank you sir I’ll look into that

I believe Charter makes one, but my experience with Charter is less than favorable. Good luck with it.

No problem. And don't go by what I say. If you think 380 is the way to go then by all means. But if it's for immediate family members you should definitely get them involved. I don't know how many threads I've read here about picking handguns for other folks. It gets very complicated. I'm guilty of it myself. I probably went through 3 auto pistols with my wife before I found something she liked at all. I might as well have been trying to buy her a bra. It's just all in what the individual is comfortable with .
I've never owned one but I tend to think that Ruger has something in their polymer framed snub series that will work well for what you need.

.380 ACP revolvers?
That's a new one on me.
A .38 S&W Special wheelgun is a lot easier to find, and you can always load 148 grain wadcutters (750 f.p.s. velocity) if regular full power loads are too snappy.

Heck, you could shoot .38 S&W out of it... they are equal to .380 ACP hardball in performance.

Right. Good catch.
It's the .38 Long Colt and Short Colt that are shorter, but same diameter, and can be shot thru .38 spl
and .357 mag revolvers.

The 38 Long colt is still available on the market thanks to the popularity of cowboy action shooting. It will throw 148-158 grain bullets at only 750 to 650 ft./s which should be pretty mild on the shooter's wrist.
