If you lemon law it you’ll get a new vehicle. My buddy did it twice with his Jeeps.

bet u a dollar that its the throttle body. i have a 2011 2500 gas and a 2015 2500 gas that both did the same thing. dealer "carl black" replaced both under warranty and solved the problem.

I made them buy mine back I had no desire to own a new GM product. At the time I did my lemon law I was drinking 150+ miles per day and the dealership had to swap out my loaner car twice during the process due to the amount of miles I was racking up on the loaner because they couldn’t sell it as a new “demo model” . It is a long crappy process but OP should start the process or be ready to spend money on a POS

I was a bit of an asshole during the process due to frustration and had the tech handling my case tell me they are told what to say but they know it’s a horrible design. Bad part is the design is for fuel mileage improvement thanks to Obama saying dealers had to average X amount of MPG

Are you a tech? My next plan was to use another dealer, just wasnt sure which one and was going to wait until lights came on again and drive straight to that dealer.

No I’m not, just a GM loyalist that tries to learn as much as possible about things that interest me.
I did a lot of study before getting into my 21 Sierra and the problems with the 8 spd transmission are numerous (my buddies 18 does the same thing). The 5.3 both LS base and LT base are solid motors. There will always be problems involved with the mass production of anything.
The 3.5 ecoboost has a big time oil consumption problem (most boosted motors do other than diesel)
The 5.7 hemi is notorious for lifter problems.
I don’t follow Toyota much but I have heard their reliability has fallen off hard as of late.
