2025 what have you done preparing for deer season

Haha just saw this post.
Pretty much mirrors my exact mindset and back yard to be specific.
There must have been some busy bucks last year because we are absolutely over run with fawn this year.
They’re zipping all over the neighborhood and prettty much every doe I saw was pregnant or had dropped her fawns already.
I’m hoping to fill my freezer early this year.
I’ve had pretty good luck getting twofers with the Excalibur reloading in the tree for follow up shots on does that lingered around after I took one of the herd.
Almost got three two seasons ago but the third was a small buck and I let him walk.
I’m wondering if he’s one of the busy boys that has been knocking all the ladies up around here…haha.
Definitely getting excited for whatever happens this season.
I wouldn't go anywhere to hunt with deer at home. That's been a dream for a long time. I have that now

I haven't hunted since my last deployment 21 years ago. I've attempted to go but quickly lost motivation.
I went the first season I retired. Haven't hunted anymore since. Dreamed for years about doing all that hunting, fishing and what not. Haven't done any of that in 5yrs now

It's strange how we just seem to lose interest in some things. I still love to fish when I can muster the motivation.

Still have my boat. Haven't used it in a very long time. Just parked in the basement. I still do play softball. When I started that in 2011, seemed to stop fishing. I'm a much more productive hunter than I am fisherman. But I used to love wetting a hook

I love watching Alabama girls softball. Those girls are good. I would love to stand at the plate for a few Montana Fouts pitches. I doubt I'd see the ball go by though. ;)

Bought more corn and sweet feed. Basstracker89 Tell me about your boat
1988 Basstracker PF 16, 40hp Johnson, foot controlled trolling motor, depth finder, live well, aluminum, tiller steering with electric tilt/trim. Bought it new. If it were a car, it'd have over 300k miles on it. But still in good shape. Always been in the basement. Not really interested in selling. I sell it, I'll probably never have another boat. How many things can you say you still like as the day you bought it almost 37yrs later
