22 ammo best price I've seen... you?

I remember when the Macon Academy opened- they had Federal Champion bulk packs for right about $10. I called Dad out in Texas and mentioned the price. The first thing he said was fill a closet with it. Boy was he right. And damn if I didn't listen.

When Sports Authority got out of guns and ammo about ten years ago, they were blowing out the 22LR 50 round boxes of CCI Blazer for 66 cents, and the 500 boxes of Winchester Super X for $6.99. Wish I had bought everything they had in the store.

The crazy thing is, .22 ammo didn't seem to increase in price at all for about 18 years. I was paying $8-$9/525 rounds just 5 years ago.....same as I paid in college.

I've got a brick down at our hunting place that says $4.94 for 500rd of Thunderbolts. Of course, I have a box of 30-06 that also is priced at (I think) $9.99 for Core-Loks that no one really hunt with. Brother any myself have an agreement that the 22lr is only for the wives/kids to shoot. Might be there for a long time...
