.22 squib? Sort of….

There are three types of ammunition problems: Hangfires, misfires, and squibs. Shoot long enough, and you'll eventually experience all three.

Misfires are the most common with 22LR. Not really dangerous, unless it's a hangfire and you think it's a misfire. If you're impatient you might rack the bolt and the pop the round out - and then it goes off. That's not good.

You had a squib. With a 22LR, probably not dangerous; different story with a centerfire.

They were the low powder Aguila rounds so it was not catastrophic. I beat them out with a wood dowel and Kroil.
No damage to the barrel, then?

I've seen squibs (in 22LR) bulge a barrel. Not bad enough to make the gun unsafe, just enough that you can see it with a bore scope.

Only issue is that you have to get creative if you sell a a like that... Noooo that's not a problem! It's like a miniature, internal "bloop tube" (Google it. It's a target shooting thing).

Hey thanks AC no nothing odd or special these are older rounds as well.

i have not bought new 22 ammo in a long time.
Any chance oil or moisture could've gotten in and wet the powder?

I've had malfs from .22LR that got oily.
