I will definitely be doing that and have always liked the look of thumb-hole stocks, any suggestions on brands to look at? I've already looked at the boyd ones but they're all out of stock.

The Boyds stuff may SAY it's outta stock but they are typically pretty fast, at least on the ones I've ordered.

If you like the thumbhole, take a look at the Rhineland Arms Leopard stocks. I like the Boyds Tacticools but I wanted something a little more adjustable. WARNING: the Boyd's stocks I've seen are pretty much drop-in. These stocks are NOT, I haven't fit mine yet, so I can't tell you how much of a PITA it is or isn't, but on these you have to FIT the stock to the action.

I have one. It required about 10 minutes with a dremel to get it to fit. Mainly in the trigger slot and around the safety.

I think I'm still leaning towards the boyds varmint stock...there's just something about it that i'm drawn to.

I'm thinking I may want to pillar bed it at some point, does anyone have some experience with it? Is it difficult?
......Or maybe the old adage of letting a professional do what he does for a living hold true. (Meaning I should find a gun smith to do this.)
